8 Dimensions of Wellness: A Holistic Approach to Treatment
At Sol Recovery Community, we believe that the most successful treatment, is trauma informed, holistic in nature, and supports our clients on a journey to balance, peace and serenity.
Due to the many facets of life, as outlined in the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, we embrace that every client’s journey will look different and have outcomes that are meaningful and important to them. By exploring these dimensions in therapy, clients are empowered to identify goals, engage in problem solving, receive individualize care and create the life they wish to live.
As clients engage in evaluating how these areas impact their life, there may be needs that are outside our expertise. In these instances, our clients work hand in hand with a case manager who will educate them on available community resources and assist in building life skills toward independently accessing these resources.
Why would I want to go to therapy?!
There are a variety of reasons someone may choose to pursue mental health services. If you are struggling with emotional well-being, you may seek help to reduce symptoms of anxiety or depression, improve self-esteem, or manage stress. If you have been diagnosed with a mental illness, you may need help managing symptoms of your condition to support your goals toward a happy and fullfilling life.
There is also this thought, sometimes life sucks… We humans are exceptional at creating messes and sometimes we are asked to walk through challenges, disappointments, and losses that we have NO control over. Having support as you navigate life’s unpredicatability can make a world of difference.
Last, but certainly not least, think about all the time you spend in a day interacting with other people. Are you fighting with your spouse or partner? Is someone at work grating on your nerves? Do your kids push buttons until you blow up? Let’s be honest, relationships can be difficult! Therapy can help you to learn healthy communication skills, how to set and honor boundaries, a variety of parenting techniques, and how to recognize when a relationship is no longer healthy.
