How Do I Know if Treatment is Right for Me?
If you are reading this message, there is a good chance you, or someone you love, has recognized that drinking or drug use is interfering with your ability to live a healthy happy life. You may resent them for pointing it out and you may resent yourself for not having control over how you ended up here.
Perhaps you woke up this morning with a feeling of dread because you can’t remember what you did or said last night. Maybe the dope man got your last twenty dollars while your kids are wondering where their next meal will come from? It is possible that life is still “manageable” and you work every day at a job you love. By 10 AM you are shaking and by 4 PM you find yourself racing for the liquor store to soothe the insatiable thirst you can’t seem to escape. Maybe you didn’t make it past lunch before you used or drank to survive the day.
Just possibly, you are terrified that treatment is right, and you will fail because the thought of being sober FOREVER is a crushing reality you can not bear to consider.
Each journey to this moment looks different, and If you can relate to even part of one of these thoughts, it is possible that treatment is right for you and there is HOPE.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will an assessment take and what do I have to do?
The short answer is about 3 hours of your time.
When you arrive, you will be asked to complete assessment forms and questionnaires prior to meeting with a clinician. The assessment appointment is scheduled for two hours but completion time varies by each individual.
Do I have to do everything for the assessment and intake at one time?
No. We understand that each person is working under different circumstances and expectations in their life. If you are unable to clear a three hour window in a single day, you are welcome to complete paperwork and come back for the face to face session on a different day.
How long does treatment take?
Length of treatment is dependent on your progress. Due to our individualized approach focused on meeting client needs, every person’s experience and length of enrollment will be different.
Do you offer telehealth options?
Do we have the capability to provide telehealth? Yes. Is it part of our normal day to day practice? No. We believe that the most effective and powerful work happens when you meet face to face with your therapist and fellow group members.
If you feel you need telehealth options, please discuss this with our team.
What happens if I need services you do not offer?
There are times when a client will need services, such as detox or residential supports, that we do not currently offer. In this scenario, our team will support you in finding placement in a program that can meet your needs. You are welcome to return to Sol Recovery when you are ready to engage in a lower level of care.
The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) has outlined criteria to determine the appropriate interventions for addiction treatment. This criteria is integrated into our mental health and substance use assessment process. Sol Recovery Community currently offers three levels of care at out-patient treatment facility: General Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, and Partial Hospitalization. The level of care recommendation made following your assessment is the level of care that will provide the best outcomes for successful recovery. As you progress in treatment, or if you experience a setback, you may move to a different level of care based on changing needs.
