Brittany Petersen is a dedicated systemic psychotherapist with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families develop healthier relationships with themselves and those around them. With nearly a decade of experience in the field, including five years serving underserved rural populations, Brittany brings a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and wellness.
Brittany earned her Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from John Brown University Graduate School in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Throughout her career, she has cultivated a diverse skill set by working with young children, families, and adults of all ages across the Midwest. Her expertise includes addressing trauma, relational conflicts, mood disorders, severe mental illness, crisis response, grief and loss, and assessment and diagnosis of various mental health conditions.
A lifelong learner and advocate for accessible mental health care, Brittany is a professional member of the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (AAMFT). Her work has been recognized multiple times, including features in Missouri Show Me magazine for her contributions to mental health initiatives in the Midwest. She has also collaborated with the Barton County Rural Coalition Committee, where she presented on Mental Health Stigma at their second annual Mental Health Fair in 2024. Recently, Marquis Who’s Who Publishing Company recognized Brittany as an ‘Emerging Leader’ in the fields of therapy and counseling for 2024-2025.
Brittany views psychotherapy as an art form—one that fosters real-life transformation and personal growth. She draws inspiration from the pioneers of the helping field, including Karen Horney, Carl Whitaker, Murray Bowen, Virginia Satir, and Salvador Minuchin, integrating their foundational principles into her therapeutic approach.
Through her work, Brittany remains committed to empowering individuals and families, reducing mental health stigma, and expanding access to quality care for all.
